Pre-production ensures that the entire crew involved in a movie, TV show, play, etc knows exactly what is going on.

Stages:

1. Development- Ideas, Legal issues, Screenplays are written.

2. Pre-Production- Cast/Crew hired, Locations are selected, Sets are built.

​

3. Production- Raw clips for final movie are recorded.

​

4. Post-Production- The movie is edited and ultimately completed.

​

Pre-production ends when the planning for the project ends and the content starts being produced.
