Filming diary
Shoot 1
20th Jan 2020:
On the first day, it didn't go to plan. The original plan was to get the scenes with the SFX filmed first, as we had the perfect time frame because we had a lesson before our filming slot which was during lunch time. The problem we ran into was that Matty was not in the lesson so Carly was unable to do the makeup which meant we had to think of another scene that we could be filmed.

After the troubles we ran into during this shoot, we realised that we should've look at our contingency plan that is detailed with everything that we would need to do if we were unable to shoot the scene we wanted because of the certain issues.
Shoot 2
22nd Jan 2020:
On the second day, things went pretty well but there was still some issues that occurred. We didn't have Carly as she had to leave school which meant we couldn't film any of the scenes with Matty in the makeup which meant we had to think of the other scenes we could film.

One problem that seems to be occurring with our group is that no one is looking at the storyboard when it comes to us shooting the scenes which ultimately could mean we are shooting scenes that we don't even have written down and won't make sense with the scenes we have on the storyboard.
Shoot 3
23rd Jan 2020
On the third day, everyone who was in school and scheduled to be involved turned up and we managed to get all the shots we wanted. During the lesson before we were scheduled to shot, Carly managed to do the makeup on Matty for the first time and it all turned out pretty well. The only thing that didn't go so well was that everything seemed to be rushed and all the footage was too short.
​
The one thing we probably all needed to do together was we should've looked at all the footage we are filming just to make sure it is all acceptable and long enough for the film opening.
Shoot 4
28th Jan 2020
On the fourth day, we were very slow to start filming as we ran into issues with the syringe we had because the needle kept falling into it and we struggled to get it back. Due to the slow start we had, we were only able to film small sections of scenes that we needed to do.
Shoot 5
30th Jan 2020
On this day, I was scheduled to be involved in the filming but I didn't attend it because I was in a meeting with some teachers in the school which led to me missing my hospitality lesson so I stayed in there instead to make sure I was caught up instead. From others that were there, I was told that it went well but they ran into some problems with getting the water to appear on his face

31st Jan 2020
On this day, I was absent from school so I missed this shoot which I was scheduled to be involved in but from what I heard it went alright and they all got a few shots of Laila walking through the corridors, writing on the whiteboards and looking at all the documents. I watched the footage to see what I missed and it looks good and adds more information to the storyline.
Shoot 7
4th Feb 2020
On this day, I was absent from school which meant I wasn't able to be involved in the shoot. I was told that everything went well and we managed to get all the shots we needed over the previous shoots considering this was the last one. The shots that everyone got were of Matty's forehead when he was sweating and Laila walking around.

Overall, I believe as a group we all lacked in communication during some of these shoots because there were some days we would get down there and not know what we were filming which led to us wasting time in the room trying to figure out what needed to be filmed.
Shoot 8
11th Feb 2020
There wasn't supposed to be an eighth shoot but after we had our second screening of the film, we all decided that some parts were missing and we needed to film them in order for the movie to make sense. The shots that we included were getting to known Matty as a character before he is injected and Laila leading him to the seat where he is later going to get injected. I was absent from school on this day which meant I missed the filming but after watching all the footage we gained, I am happy with how it all turned out.
